Awards for best talks and posters

Elsevier Physics and Nuclear Physics A sponsored awards for the best theory and experiment parallel talks. The winners were be selected by a committee and announced during the last plenary session. The four winners are: Barbara Trzeciak (Utrecht University), Michael Knichel (CERN), Violetta Sagun (Centro Multidisciplinar de Astrofisica), Yang Ting Chen (MIT). See award ceremony slides here.

The authors of the ten best posters were given the opportunity to present their work in a flash talk of five minutes during the last plenary session. The ten selected authors can be found here.


Talk presentations

The duration of talks is 25 minutes for plenary sessions and 15 minutes for parallel sessions (followed by 5 minutes for questions in both cases). Please provide your slides in PDF (strongly preferred) or ppt/pptx format and upload the file directly to Indico by 16.00 of the day before your presentation. If you have problems with the permissions in Indico, please write as soon as possible to qm2018-indico@pd.infn.it.

There will be a Speakers Office (Room Griffith on the 1st floor of Palazzo del Casinò, same floor as the entrance hall) where exceptionally files can be uploaded with a memory stick. The presentations will be projected in 16:9 format using central PC laptops with Microsoft Windows 10. It will not be possible to use personal laptops for the presentations. Two notebooks in the Speakers Office will be available to test the presentations. In case of ppt/pptx format, it is speaker’s responsibility to check the quality of the presentation (fonts, layout, etc.) before the aforementioned deadline. File replacements during the sessions are not permitted.


Posters

Posters will be on display from Monday 14 May morning to Friday 18 May lunch time, on the 1st and 3rd floors of Palazzo del Casinò. The poster session will be held on Tuesday 15 May from 17:00 to 19:30.

The maximum poster size is A0 with portrait orientation (width = 841mm, height = 1189mm).

It will not be possible to print posters at the conference site or anywhere nearby.

Posters will be arranged by topic (Scientific Track chosen at abstract submission time) and can be positioned starting from Monday 14 May at 8:00. The poster stands will be labelled and identified with a board number. Poster authors can find the board number assigned to their poster at the end of the conference booklet, which can be found at this link and will be handed at the registration. Double-sided tape will be provided for the poster stands. Please do not use pins. The posters should be removed on Friday 18 May afternoon.

The PDF files of the posters should also be uploaded to Indico, for browsing during the conference and for future reference.
